Politiglue exists to help readers understand how political systems, incentives, and narratives connect over time. These standards explain how we approach our work, what readers can expect, and how we handle mistakes when they occur.
This page is not about claiming neutrality. It’s about being clear, accountable, and intellectually honest.
What We Publish
We publish three distinct types of work. Every piece is labeled so readers know the intent up front.
Explainer
Explainers are designed to orient the reader. They focus on systems, definitions, history, and structure. Their goal is clarity, not persuasion.
Analysis
Analysis examines how incentives, institutions, and narratives interact. These pieces make arguments, but those arguments are grounded in evidence, precedent, and clearly stated assumptions.
Opinion
Opinion pieces reflect a defined point of view. They are not presented as neutral, and they are published under a consistent voice so readers can evaluate them accordingly.
What We Do (and Don’t Do)
- We do not publish breaking news or live updates.
- We do not chase outrage cycles or trending narratives for their own sake.
- We do not pretend that all arguments deserve equal weight.
- We do aim to describe opposing arguments accurately before critiquing them.
- We value coherence, sourcing, and structure over speed.
Sources and Evidence
- We link sources whenever practical, especially for factual claims.
- We prioritize primary sources (official documents, original reporting, academic research) when available.
- We distinguish clearly between facts, interpretation, and opinion.
- When evidence is incomplete or contested, we say so.
Updates and Revisions
Politics changes. Facts change. Context shifts.
- We update articles when material facts change or when additional context materially alters the original framing.
- Significant updates are noted in the article when appropriate.
- We do not silently rewrite arguments to reflect new outcomes without acknowledgment.
Corrections
We take corrections seriously.
If you believe an article contains a factual error, misleading phrasing, or missing context that materially affects understanding:
- Contact us via the correction or contact link provided.
- Include the article title, the specific issue, and (if possible) a source.
When a correction is warranted:
- We correct it clearly.
- We do not remove errors without acknowledgment.
- We do not retaliate against good-faith correction requests.
Independence and Conflicts
Politiglue is editorially independent.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for coverage or favorable framing.
- Sponsored content, if it exists, will be clearly labeled.
- Personal or institutional conflicts relevant to a piece will be disclosed when applicable.
Tone and Intent
Our goal is not to tell readers what to think. It is to help them see the machinery—the rules, incentives, and narratives that shape political outcomes.
We assume readers are capable of handling complexity, ambiguity, and disagreement without being shouted at.
A Note to Readers
If something here feels unclear, inconsistent, or wrong, tell us. Politiglue works only if it remains legible, accountable, and open to correction.
Understanding is cumulative. So is trust.
