Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 2019 (updated December 2025)
Politiglue (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates https://www.politiglue.io (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.politiglue.io.
What we collect
We collect information in a few ways:
- Information you provide: When you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the comment form (typically name, email, website if provided, and your comment).
- Technical information: Like most websites, we receive information such as IP address, device/browser type, operating system, referring pages, and timestamps. This is used for security, performance, and analytics.
- Analytics information (GA4): We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site (for example, which pages are visited and how long people stay). See “Analytics and cookies” below.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the Site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection and site security.
If you use Gravatar, an anonymized string (a hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture (if any) may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media uploads
Visitors cannot upload media to the Site. If that changes in the future, we will update this policy. If you ever upload images anywhere online, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as it can be extracted by others.
Analytics and cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies to support core site functions, to remember comment settings (if you choose), and to measure site usage via Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
Comment cookies: If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for up to one year.
Editing cookies: If you edit or publish an article (site administrators only), an additional cookie may be saved in your browser indicating the post ID. It expires after 1 day.
Google Analytics (GA4): GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information about how visitors use the Site. This helps us improve content, navigation, and performance. Google may process this information on servers outside your region, including in the United States.
Your choices: You can limit cookies through your browser settings. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this Site may include embedded content (for example, videos, images, or social posts). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if you visited the other website directly.
Those third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with embedded content, especially if you have an account and are logged in to that service.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the Site, such as:
- Hosting provider: Our website hosting provider processes limited technical data to deliver the Site reliably and securely.
- Analytics provider (Google Analytics 4): Used to measure site traffic and usage patterns.
- Spam/security tools: Visitor comments may be checked through automated spam detection and security services.
How long we retain your data
- Comments: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments and maintain conversation context.
- Server/security logs: Technical logs are typically retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics: Analytics retention follows our GA4 configuration and Google’s processing practices.
Your rights and choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. If you have left comments, you can also request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you.
To make a request, email us at privacy@politiglue.io. We may need to verify your request before responding. We may retain certain information as required for legal, administrative, or security purposes.
International visitors
If you are visiting from outside Canada, note that your information may be processed in jurisdictions with different privacy laws (for example, by Google in the United States). By using the Site, you acknowledge this processing.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Site or legal requirements. The “Effective date” above will be updated when changes are made.
